Smiling at Epicurus
What is could just as easily not have been. It’s the opposite of destiny, or fate, to tell oneself that this instant could very well not have existed. I could have never lived it ! To start with, I could have not existed – or already be dead. But I’m alive, what luck ! On top of that, this daylight is beautiful. On top of that, I’m lucky to meet nice people. And on top of that, this warm coffee, and this light breeze in the dunes…I could have never lived these moments, seen this landscape, pictured this scene, nor have met the people I love, nor listened to Burt Bacharach. Is this why I photograph almost everything I live, to remember our good luck ?
