Waiting for Kadhafi

January 2000, Niger. Terrorist threats have immobilized the largest rally-raid in the world, the Dakar, at Niamey airport. With only 24 hours worth of food supplies on hand, the contestants get organized in order to survive several days in the oven-baked atmosphere hovering over the sun-charred tarmac. Relief will come from the skies in the form of an incessant ballet of gigantic Antonov 124s airlifting 60 trucks, 130 cars, 200 motorbikes, 10 helicopters and 2000 men into Libya, where President Kadhafi will welcome them as the one who’ll have saved the Dakar from the terrorists.
