Vanishing gardens

These makeshift cabins and huts symbolize our hankering for freedom and adventure. They shelter our childhood builders’ dreams and man’s tools. They’re all made from odds and ends, but if looked at closely, each shed is a reflection of a personality, of a sense of resourcefulness, and of a stubbornness borne of the challenge. Because these urban vegetable patches and their sheds are fast disappearing. They are succumbing to another of society’s lies: people shout loud and clear that these places are indispensable to life within our cities, but tear them down to reap the benefits from lucrative real estate deals.
