The race he did not win

Last week-end was the return of Formula 1 Grand Prix to France. And what was my best moment? Bumping into René Arnoux again. At a time when F1 drivers were risking their lives every single race, this die-hard Renault, then Ferrari driver earned himself 22 podium places, of which 7 were victories. On the other hand, whenever anyone stops him in the Paul Ricard Circuit paddock, it’s to reminisce about a race that he didn’t win: the 1979 French Grand Prix and his heated battle with Gilles Villeneuve. Those couple of famous laps forever left their mark on the history of automobile racing. Head straight over to Internet to see firsthand what fighting to the very end truly means.
