To Englert and Higgs their boson, to Marie her radium, to Paul and Penning their ion traps; me, I discovered Helen’s legs. The particle accelerators can get dressed, these legs unfold another world, a parallel universe. Let’s bestow all prizes, medals, Nobels and sundry honors upon the whitened crowns of our greatest scholars. May all the ribbons I receive be her legs round my neck and for laurels, her fingers through my mane.
