I shot the sheriff

As it gets closer, the squad car slows down. I’m thinking, Bummer, here we go again. But I’m not doing anything wrong, just hanging on the side of the road with my camera. I’m a photographer, all I steal is shots. Just as the car drives past, I take the photo. In my Hasselblad’s viewfinder, all I can see is a backlit car going on by, scornful. It’s only once I develop the film that I see that it’s no guy, but a lady sheriff, dazzling like flashing lights. Bummer. I should have thrown myself under her wheels.
