GiedRé
GiedRé
GiedRé fills all venues, big and small, from the Olympia in Paris to the Reflektor in Liège. But most of all, she fills a gaping void on French stages, that of insolent humour. Imagine Dorothy possessed by Johnny Rotten. The pretty and fresh-faced Lithuanian lures you into her kitschy décor then hits you with All Bitches, Upside-Down Love, To Pee Standing Up, Ode to Contraception and Die*. GiedRé tries to write a Pretty Song*, but just can’t; she can’t help it if what shocks her in our world creeps up in her every verse. GiedRé pulls off that forgotten trick: to inspire amazed guffaws.
